How much does junk removal cost in Tega Cay?
A single item pickup in Tega Cay is $95. After that, junk removal is priced by the space the load takes, not by the hour, at one price per trailer load: a pickup-bed load is $150, a small room is $235, a large room is $315, a one-car garage is $395, a partially cleared two-car garage is $475, a full two-car garage is $560, and a trailer packed full is $700.
The 16ft enclosed is what we usually bring to a Tega Cay whole-garage or whole-basement cleanout, because most of the peninsula sits on hilly, wooded lots where the load has to come up a grade to the truck. The utility trailers are better on the tight lakeside cul-de-sacs off Spanish Wells and Holiday Cove where a long trailer is hard to turn around.

What will the City of Tega Cay pick up at the curb, and what does it charge?
Tega Cay's curbside collection starts Mondays, and the free items are limited: bagged lawn clippings, bush clippings and leaves, plus pruned limbs up to 4 feet long and under 4 inches in diameter, and Christmas trees with the lights and ornaments off. Anything past that is a scheduled, fee-based pickup you arrange with City Hall in advance.
The fee schedule is where most residents decide to call us instead. Appliances and white goods are $50 per item, and household furnishings and power equipment are also $50 per item, so a bedroom set, a couch, a recliner and an old washer add up fast. Tree parts over 4 inches in diameter and extra brush loads are $150 per truckload. Homeowner-generated construction material is $150 per truckload, and landscape timbers or crossties are $200 per truckload.
Two details catch people out. First, the city requires the compressor removed from white goods before pickup, which most homeowners are not set up to do. Second, construction debris is only accepted when the homeowner generated it, so if a contractor did the demo it is not going curbside at all. Bagged soil is not accepted, and hazardous chemicals have to go to the York County recycle center rather than to the curb.
We handle all of the above without you scheduling anything with City Hall, without the item sitting at the curb for days while your HOA notices, and without you pulling a compressor. We take the fridge as-is for the $40 refrigerant surcharge.
Do you work in Tega Cay from Charlotte regularly?
Yes. We are based in Steele Creek, and Steele Creek Road runs due south and becomes SC-160 at the state line, which puts us at the Tega Cay line in a short run with no interstate involved. Travel is built into the number we quote — one price for the job, not a job price with a trip charge added on top. The price is confirmed before any work starts.
That matters more here than people expect. A lot of hauling companies quoting Tega Cay are coming down I-77 from uptown or over from Rock Hill, and the drive gets priced into the job. Our route means we can take a $95 single-item pickup in Windjammer or a two-hour labor call in Cameron Creek and it still makes sense, so you are not being told there is a minimum job size just to justify the windshield time.

The over-fireplace and stone pricing comes up constantly in Tega Cay. The newer builds in Lake Ridge, Watertrace, Cameron Creek and Windell Woods went in with stacked-stone and brick fireplace surrounds in two-story great rooms, and the lakeview homes on the peninsula often have a chimney chase on the water side. That is a different job from drilling into studs and drywall, which is why it is priced separately.
Add-ons are never discounted, including on the second TV: stick-on cord concealment is $39, in-wall cord concealment starts at $89, a flat mount is $40 and a full-motion mount is $65. Can I hire help by the hour for moving and odd jobs in Tega Cay?
Yes. A solo handyman is $70/hr with a 2-hour minimum and a two-person crew is $135/hr with a 2-hour minimum. If you need a trailer on site for the same job, add $35/hr for a utility trailer or $60/hr for the 16ft enclosed, so a two-person crew with the enclosed trailer is $195/hr. After the minimum we bill in 30-minute increments.
Hourly is usually the right call in Tega Cay because of the terrain. The peninsula is hilly and heavily wooded, and a lot of the original homes sit below street grade with a long, steep driveway and a walk-out lower level facing the lake. Carry distance and grade are what actually consume the clock here, not the size of the furniture. Same with the older split-levels and the townhome stacks near the golf club, where a piece has to be turned on a landing rather than walked straight out.
Common hourly work here is loading or unloading a rental truck, moving furniture between floors after a lower-level remodel, clearing a garage or dock storage area, hanging shelving and mirrors, and general handyman punch lists. Stairs add $25 per flight above the first on flat-rate work; on hourly work you are simply paying for the time.
On Saturday and Sunday the two-person hourly crew has a 3-hour minimum. The solo handyman stays at the 2-hour minimum. Flat-rate services like TV mounting and junk removal have no minimum at all, and the Sunday 15% surcharge applies only to flat-rate work, never to hourly crew work.
What does new flooring cost in a Tega Cay home?
LVP and laminate installation is $2.50 per square foot, herringbone and premium patterns are $3.50 per square foot, tear-out and haul-away of the old floor is $1.00 per square foot, and subfloor prep is $70/hr. There is a 200 square foot or $500 minimum.
Most of our Tega Cay flooring work falls into two buckets. The first is the original Ervin-era housing stock from the 1970s and early 80s on the peninsula, where the carpet, the parquet and the sheet vinyl are all original and the subfloor has usually moved a little over fifty years on a sloped lot.
